Privacy & Cookie Policy

This policy covers the SetGrip app for iPhone and Apple Watch and the setgrip.app website. SetGrip is developed by Linas Nutautas, the data controller for the personal information described here. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to info@linasdev.io.

Your workout data and iCloud

SetGrip does not require a SetGrip account. Routines, exercise selections, notes, sets, repetitions, weights, time, distance and workout history are stored on your device. Core workout logging works offline. Your iPhone and Apple Watch exchange workout information to support the companion app.

When iCloud is available for SetGrip, routines and workout history sync through your private Apple iCloud database. This can include heart-rate and active-energy summaries saved with a workout. We cannot read your private iCloud database and do not maintain a separate SetGrip server containing your workout history. Apple processes iCloud data under its Privacy Policy.

Apple Health

With your permission, SetGrip can save completed workouts to Apple Health. The Apple Watch app can use heart rate and active energy during a workout to display live measurements and workout summaries. These permissions are optional and can be changed in Apple Health or your device's privacy settings.

Health measurements are used for your workout features, not for advertising. SetGrip does not send your Health measurements, exercise names, notes, weights or repetitions to RevenueCat, TelemetryDeck, WishKit or the website's Google Analytics. Workout summaries can be included in your private iCloud sync and in files you choose to export or share.

Purchases and subscriptions

Apple processes App Store payments. SetGrip uses RevenueCat to validate purchases, restore access and determine whether Premium features are available. RevenueCat processes purchase and subscription information, an automatically generated app user identifier and technical information needed to provide this service. Purchase information is also used for subscription reporting. SetGrip does not provide RevenueCat with your name or email address, and we do not receive your payment-card details. App usage analytics

SetGrip uses TelemetryDeck to understand how app features are used. Events include completing onboarding, creating a routine, starting, finishing or discarding a workout, and opening a Premium paywall. Event details describe categories such as iPhone versus Apple Watch, or which screen opened the paywall. They do not include workout content, Health measurements or text you enter.

TelemetryDeck also processes basic app and device information, such as app version, operating-system version and device type, using anonymized identifiers. According to TelemetryDeck, it does not store IP addresses. Its Privacy FAQ and Privacy Policy explain this processing. The website's cookie settings apply to website analytics, not to TelemetryDeck in the app.

Feedback and support

The optional feature-request board uses WishKit. When you use it, WishKit processes your submitted requests, votes and an app user identifier to operate the board. Requests may be visible to other users. SetGrip does not ask for an email address in this board. Please keep sensitive personal and Health information out of public feedback. See the WishKit Privacy Policy.

If you email support, we receive your email address, your message and any attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond and investigate your request. Support email is handled through Proton Mail; see the Proton Mail Privacy Policy.

Website analytics

The website uses Google Analytics 4 only after you explicitly accept analytics cookies. Before consent, the Google tag is not loaded and no analytics request is sent to Google. Declining analytics does not limit any website functionality.

When enabled, Google Analytics may process the page viewed, the referring page, session information, approximate location, and browser or device information. SetGrip disables advertising storage, advertising personalization and Google Signals. Workout history, Apple Health data and information entered in the SetGrip app are never sent to this website's Google Analytics property.

Cookies and storage

Essential local browser storage that remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics.

_ga and _ga_*

Optional Google Analytics cookies used to distinguish visits after consent. They can remain for up to two years unless you withdraw consent or clear browser storage.

User-level and event-level Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months. Aggregated reports may be available for longer. Google acts as an analytics service provider; see Google's Privacy Policy and Analytics Terms.

Your website cookie choice

Consent is the legal basis for optional analytics. You can refuse it when first visiting the website and change your choice later. When consent is withdrawn, Analytics is disabled and the website removes the Google Analytics cookies it can access.

Hosting

The website is hosted by Netlify. Netlify may process standard request and security information required to deliver the website. See the Netlify Privacy Statement.

Retention, export and deletion

Routines and workout history stay on your devices and in your private iCloud database until you delete them. In SetGrip, use Settings → Export Workout Data to export completed workout history as CSV or JSON. These files are not a complete backup of all app settings and routines. You control where you save or share them.

Settings → Delete All Data deletes routines and workout history from SetGrip and, after synchronization, your private iCloud database and other SetGrip devices. This does not delete workouts already saved in Apple Health, files you previously exported, or purchase records held by Apple and RevenueCat. Manage Apple Health data in the Health app and delete exported copies where you stored them. Removing the app alone does not necessarily remove iCloud data or cancel a subscription.

We keep support correspondence and feedback for as long as needed to respond, maintain the requested feature or resolve an issue, and to meet applicable legal obligations. You can contact us to request deletion. Purchase providers retain records needed to manage entitlements, restore purchases and comply with their obligations. TelemetryDeck's anonymized usage events may be retained without a fixed deletion period, as explained in its Privacy FAQ. Deleting workout history does not erase these separate service records.

Use and sharing of information

We do not sell personal information or use workout or Health data for advertising. The services named above process information for the purposes described in this policy. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect users and the security of the service.

Some providers may process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Their linked privacy notices describe their processing locations and transfer safeguards. We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Legal bases and your rights

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process information to provide the services you request, for legitimate interests such as responding to support requests and keeping services secure, to meet legal obligations, or with your consent where required. Optional website analytics relies on consent. Access to Apple Health requires your permission.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export or restrict personal data, object to processing, withdraw consent, and complain to your local data protection authority. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before you withdrew consent. Contact info@linasdev.io to make a request. We cannot retrieve workout information held only on your device or in your private iCloud database; the app's export and deletion controls let you manage that information directly.

Children's privacy

SetGrip is a general-audience fitness tool and is not directed at children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through feedback or support, please contact us so we can investigate and remove it where appropriate.

Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when SetGrip or its services change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. If a change requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it as required. For privacy questions, contact Linas Nutautas at info@linasdev.io.
